APC Will Save Nigeria, Fashola Insists
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola today, Wednesday said the All Progressives Congress (APC), is in position to save Nigeria from poor management of human and natural resources.
The governor was speaking after registering as a member of the APC with his wife, Dame Abimbola Fashola, at Surulere.
Fashola said it was high time the nation’s electorates rescued the country from difficult challenges of poor management, urging Nigerians to register as members of the party.
”You are free to come and join if you believe in what the party stands for which is to save Nigeria from its current difficult challenges and poor management.
“We are now in the process of identifying by membership, the individuals that make up the large number of Nigerians who are delivering what is clearly the biggest political movement in order to give birth to a new Nigeria has begun today, he said
“You can see the process, the openness and the transparency. So all those who are concerned about our country will find a vehicle of expression in the APC and I urge them to join us by registering as members of this party to save our country”.
Fashola said the next line of action after the registration is concluded would be to reconcile all the records and ensure that those who want to join the party are not left out.
“We will ensure that the process is all inclusive, if there are issues with registration, there would be mop up to ensure that there is a level playing field, everybody who wants to register will register.
“So going forward thereafter will be the announcement by the interim National Executive for the plans of the ward congresses, local government congresses, state congresses up to the National Convention where all of the officers of the party will now be elected in a transparent and open process.
“From then on, the structure of governance and administration from ward level will be in the hands of elected members of the party by electoral processes designed by the party in accordance with its constitution”.
The party registration exercise is for six days and will be held in 8500 wards in d state
